Today was super boring. We started out the day cleaning up the vomit N had so carefully "placed" on the carpet at the bottom of his bunk bed stairs. Another episode made it into the toilet bowl. After using my better mommy judgement, and keeping him home from school, the remainder of the day was spent playing and acting like he was totally fine. So I guess maybe he should have gone. But I guess it doesn't matter anyway, it is the last week of school and they really don't do much. While we were home I did turn on the news to hear about a salmonella outbreak from Mexican tomatoes.......hmmm.
The rest of the day I did more laundry, cleaned some of the bathrooms (we have 4), and taped around the baseboards and doorways in my next room project. Tomorrow I'll tape around the ceilings and window. Now, that should be easy!
A and I did review some diapers together. The Nature Babycare Eco-friendly diapers.
They are a little rougher than the standard disposable diapers we have been using, but hold just as much and have roughly the same fit. The diapers are chlorine-free, latex-free, and plastic-free and scent-free, so if you like those perfumy diapers, you won't like these. Also despite all the other "free"s, these diapers are not free and do cost a tad more than the standard brands. The pattern is natural and attractive with small green leaves throughout. They are sized the same as the other brands. My main complaint is that the diapers use velcro, but the velcro only sticks along the top, which makes wrapping up a dirty diaper nearly impossible. Our family doesn't do a lot of on-the-go diaper changes anymore, but for those of you with younger babies, this may be a problem, especially if there are chunks inside (if you catch my drift). A plastic bag would always help, but that sort of defeats the purpose of using these diapers! You can pick up these diapers and their eco-friendly wipes at target or online at diapers.com.
