I went to the animal fair...

...the birds and the beasts were there. The big baboon, by the light of the moon, was combing his auburn hair. You ought to have seen the monk. He sat on the elephant's trunk. The elephant sneezed and fell on his knees. And what became of the monk?...

Today we went to the Animal Park. Oh my, what a lovely drive. I played Jungle Book on the DVD player and not so much as a squeal from behind me.....an ahhhh moment. We didnt get to see many animals, though. The kids had ideas of their own, like climbing on any stationary object, and eating their way through the park. They especially enjoyed the sweet, sticky things that drip and tend to attract bees. At least this time I didn't slather the JASON sunbrellas kid's sunblock SPF 46 on everyone. Talk about attracting some unwanted attention (bees-that is). Valuable lesson learned.

On the way home I stopped at a local stand and got fresh fruits and vegetables. I always mean to do that, but we're always in such a hurry and I want to beat traffic, so I don't. Today I made it happen. My feet and legs are a little tired and achey from all the walking and from scrubbing the downstairs floors this evening.

For dinner I decided to stick with our usual Friday night routine and ordered take-out pizza. Tried to find a good family movie to rent, but at 6:00 pm on a Friday, the choices were limited. When I came home E had on her favorite CD: Laurie Berkner's "Whaddaya Think of That?" and was dancing for my MIL. This is about the third day in a row I have witnessed this routine. Then afterwards, she slips in her "At the Codfish Ball" (Shirley Temple) song and does her tap routine. What a performer!
