E's last day

Today was E's last day of school. I had to drop her off at her friend Hannah's, so Stacey (Hannah's mom) could take them to school. Thank God for my friends. Then I could attend N's family barbecue at school. It was hot and there was little shade. Kat found a cramped space under a spindly tree to set up our chairs. Ahhh...shade. Others weren't so lucky. The barbecue consisted of one hot dog (already tucked in the bun), one bag of chips, one slice of orange and one slice of watermelon. Oh, and a bottle of water. After all the food was gone, they passed out Otter pops to the kids. N was still hungry, but said he was only allowed one hot dog. The elementary school was on half days, so after our barbecue, I signed him out and went home 45 minutes early where he and I satisfied our hunger with the last of the Strawberry Rice Krispy squares I made yesterday.

This evening we attended N's team party at a local pizza place and said our good-byes. The boys got bored after an hour and started to goof around. Maybe it was the caffeine in the pop or the sugar in the cake and ice cream, but things seemed to get louder and louder. I was relieved to finally go home before somebody got hurt.

The sister "cheerleaders" for the team.
