The boys' favorite part of the game...snacks!
Cade, N, Zach and Jared
Today N's team, the Athletics, played the Angels and won 15-6. That means Saturday N's team will play in the world series against the champion of the National League. And our family is responsible for bringing the snacks for everyone. V wanted to bring a championship cake for the team, but for some reason I don't believe it would be a good idea. I hope Ricky's mom wears her lucky shirt and pin. I guess she's superstitious, and it seems to be working so far. Of course, after the game today his coach decided we needed an extra practice on Friday afternoon. So that means we've only had one day off from baseball this whole week!
After the game, we headed straight for the elementary school for N's class musical "Bugz". N wore black with a sparkly gold top hat and played a dancing firefly. N had to change in the car for the second time that day (he had to change into his baseball uniform at the sports park).
Finally made it over to Navy Federal and deleted that troublesome "code word" from my account. They reinstated my credit card, so I don't have to get a new one. So what we have here is a happy customer.
Tonight was a Happy Meal night, but last night I made the antipasto recipe. I didn't think the kids would like it, since it has pepperoni and red pepper flakes in it (they usually don't like anything spicy), but they ate everything on their plates and even asked for more, finishing off the dish altogether. We had no leftovers at all. Next time I think I'll try corkscrew pasta instead of macaroni, and small bite-size chunks of pepperoni, instead of slices, maybe some whole pitted black olives too.
