Beach Trip

We went on a family outing to the beach today. My kids seem to have a fascination with holes. Deep, cold, damp holes...digging them, hiding in them, playing in them and filling them. They also like to carry buckets of water up from the waves. I don't mind it, because it must tire them out. I like it when they are tired out, as long as they sleep.

Beach trip = no potty training. Hopefully we didn't botch things up too badly. Tomorrow we'll have to resume our efforts. Dinner today was Souplantation at 7:30 pm. We left for home at 9 pm, it is 10:05 now... A is "hungry". How can this be? Oops...did I say hungry? Well, now she is fast asleep.

My SIL (an elementary teacher) sent me an article about academic intelligence vs. creative intelligence "The Plural of Leaf is Tree", and said it reminded her of Elise. So now I am tasked with providing stimulating and challenging exercises to enrich her mind outside the confines of schoolwork. Do I really need to do this, or will these experiences just present themselves on their own time?

N starting one of his world-famous holes.

This hole was so deep, it hit seawater. Some teenagers there before us dug it, the kids filled it in a little (to dryness) and played in it for a good hour.
