Mamma Mia
Yes, I did go to see Mamma Mia at the theater last night. I never saw the musical, so I have nothing to compare it to. I know the critics probably don't like it, but I found it refreshing and funny. A real feel-good movie. It was a comedy, the scenery was pretty (greek island somewhere) and most of the actors middle aged (not perfect). Aren't you sick of seeing all those movies with the perfectly lipod, airbrushed, body-doubled acters and actresses? What I found so funny was the fact that the local peasants would just burst into song at the right moments. And they really used a lot of everyday sort of people. Pierce Brosnan- not a good singer, but he still looks good (even at the age of 55). In my mind he'll always be Bond-James Bond. Meryl Streep looks pretty good for 59. This is a real girls-night-out film, which is exactly how I happened to see it. If you like ABBA music, and you're a woman, check it out! Thumbs up over here.
