A-all dressed up at school (like father, like daughter)
Pre trick-or-treating (I know, E looks more like a streetwalker than a cheerleader). She changed her mind about the wig-it was too itchy!
Yes, folks. We did indeed go trick-or-treating. After over 5 hours of cleaning and organizing the playroom, the kids earned the privilege (5 hours...not torture, but only because they were dragging their feet the whole time!). As much as I dislike it, my kids do like the tricks-or-treats a lot. We walked a quarter of a mile or so and hit...11 houses. Most of the houses on our street and cul-de-sac were dark. We only went up to the houses with porch lights on. Gra-pa stayed behind answering the door for our 30 or so trick-or-treaters. Not many. In fact, most of them came in one large group, from our housing development. Call it a mass migration, if you will.
First door...
They answered!
Make a run for it, before they change their mind!
An unattended bowl of candy!
Lucky for me, last minute insight told me to buy a few extra small bags of tasty candy that I don't mind eating (in a pinch of course). That stuff never got opened, and since it is (tiny) Snickers and Baby Ruth bars, I had the wherewithal (or as Dad would call it--resourcefulness) to stick it in the freezer tonight for a sneaky mommy treat tomorrow.
