Fall is here

This week A was a "dancing flower" at dance class.

E has changed her mind again about gymnastics, so I guess we'll be sticking with it. I must say, I was a little relieved. I'm not sure what she was thinking, but all I could think about was the money I just spent to buy her two new gymnastics leotards. Today during her brother's soccer game (they won) she started her own class trying to teach all the little kids how to do somersaults and cartwheels. According to V, she lost her game. I lose track of the score everytime.

A learning "jumping jacks"
The kids had their pal Bruin (aka canine houseguest) to play with the past few days. (He had to go home today). We lost three more balls over the fence into the deserted yard behind us. I don't know what it is with my boy, but losing all these balls is killing me!
We'll be expecting another houseguest next week (Grandpa). The houseguest of November (Thanksgiving week) will be Aunt Marci with Eli and Samuel. We're so excited to have all this activity, especially around the holidays. And of course we'll have great fun with the holiday cooking! (I'll be thankful.)
I've attached some photos of the Cub Scout pack meeting this week. I had to look a the photos after we got home to see what actually happened, since I spent the entire meeting parked at a table near the door collecting dues and counting popcorn money. Well, except for when I came up front to help with the popcorn sales goal demonstration. (I hope the rest of the year isn't like this.) It was loud and there was lots of activity, so I'm sure the kids had fun.

Friday night, on the way to sell cub scout popcorn (oh, when will it be over?), we were sitting at a traffic light. A (2 years) pointed to the teenagers hanging out on the side of the street and said, "Look Mom, some High School Musicals!" Curious, I looked and asked what did she say? High school musicals? What's that?
"There is one High School Musical, and over there is another, there are lots of them!" Then it dawned on me, she thinks a teenager is called a High School Musical. Well, I guess I should be happy she can recognize different groups of people by age.
Today N and I went to a birthday party of one of his classmates. There was so much food there, I was amazed. Could this really be a 7 year olds birthday party, or am I in the twilight zone? They had the old fall-backs, pizza and cupcakes for the kids, but for the adults...four different kinds of dessert, pancit, lumpia, and about a dozen other dishes I've seen before, but I'm not sure of the names. And no, I don't think it was catered. After eating their food and cupcakes (and in my son's case, a small sandwich baggie full of candy) the children went into the bounce house and jumped for an hour (I would have been sick).
