Today was Labor Day. The kids were home from school. V was working and making time and a half. We didn't leave the house, except to trim the roses and water the dead patch of grass in the front yard. My car is still polished to a high gloss from yesterday's family activity (washing the car). Only A and N helped, E was busy with her
new pasttime movie. I am starting to memorize the songs from High School Musical- E plays it everyday. Even A is learning the words. I hope its ok that my 2 and 5 year olds are watching High School Musical - it is rated
G, after all - and it's Disney (well, and so are Transformers and Power Rangers). The "High School" part throws me off. I wonder if the other 2 and 5 year olds are watching it? They received it from their aunt as a gift. I guess it was a great gift, because they can't get enough of it...so I went out and bought High School Musical 2. Now they can learn all the songs from that. I wonder if I am a bad mommy?
We did make gingerbread cookies today, not gingerbread men, just gingerbread cookies...it was N's idea. Found a great recipe on the web for
gingerbread cookies worth eating. We were out of eggs, so I had to do a bit of hunting to find it. And I didn't have
dark brown sugar, only
light brown, but they still turned out good. Yum, they are good. I think we'll "ice" and decorate them after school and homework tomorrow. If there are any left, that is.

Otherwise it was just a lazy day for the children and a laborious one for me. Cleaning, doing the bills (wow, amazing how much can be spent to attend one wedding in Seattle), sorting outgrown children's clothing, organizing. I noticed there is a huge amount of organizing to be done around the house. So I guess I better get started. One little project a day, otherwise it takes up too much of my time.
Wow it is after 10, I am up late tonight!
