By the way, the UPS trip only took about half an hour each way, not 51 minutes as Mapquest calculated for me. Everything was there. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed about the credit card bill and that they didn't screw that one up too.
My dark and handsome admirer went home to his real family this week. It was nice while it lasted. The kids came home from school Wednesday to find him gone, and they were so disappointed. I have to say when I came home in the afternoon to find an empty house I felt a little twinge of something too. Some little spark of my Bailey had come to visit for a week and I was feeling some grief again. At some point, I decided to clean my floors, and as you can see, A was such a big help. She really soaks the floor for me and makes sure I work really hard to get the job done right!
Today I got to watch Ayla for Stacey while A went to her dance class. Pocahontas was the theme this week. She looked so cute in her "skins" and braids.
For dinner I had big plans for Eight Flavored Shrimp, but since the shrimp was frozen (after all), and the kids' school was having a fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A, well we just had to attend. And I just had to take another night off from cooking. So I guess it will be shrimp tomorrow instead of pizza night. Everyone who was anyone was there. I have never waited so long for fast-food before in my life. And I had to wait in that line twice. Once for dinner and once for dessert. The kids played on the play equipment with all their friends. It was like an extension of recess. One of the little little-sisterless girls from N's grade took little A under her wing and showed her the ropes. E was too busy playing with the girls from her class to bother with her sister. They were having soooo much fun we had to bribe them out with the promise of ice cream. We waited at least ten minutes for these soft serve cones, then the kids ate about a quarter of it and decided they couldn't eat anymore....
Tomorrow morning I volunteer in N's class. His teacher stopped me at the school today to thank me for that "wonderful" chewy gingerbread cookie recipe. N had taken her a few cookies and she liked them so much, she asked him to send the recipe to school for her. We'll have to make them again around the holidays. We can decorate little men (and women).
