"Miss Donalds"

Today A and I had a mother-daughter date at "Miss Donalds" while Daddy and the other two went to a pizza night "Watch D.O.G.S." event at school. Relevant information: I didn't have to cook. This is wonderful, I needed a night off. So, after finding out A got a Princess Leia bobblehead toy, the two of us enjoyed our Happy Meals and dipping our french fries in ketchup. Next we got a little more happy in the Playland, until it was time to go, that is. That's when all happiness suddenly ended, everyone suddenly became a friend we couldn't part with, and hunger pains returned to small bellies. Perhaps Playland should be avoided? At least for the time being.

Earlier in the day, and while the others were at school, we attended A's dance class. The girls dressed up as Princess Ariel and learned all her "moves"... I got to read the latest Newsweek, a new subscription I am receiving. Really funny, since I never subscribed to it.!

Library books were due today, but I couldn't return them, because I had to be home for a supposed UPS delivery I had to sign for between 10 and 2. Well, I waited until 3, then headed for school to pick up the older kids. Walking back to my car from the school, I noticed a large UPS truck looming over the crosswalk. I thought of flagging him down, but he was just too fast for me. When I got home, there it was, the second attempt delivery notice. Of course tomorrow's delivery is scheduled from 2-5, as history is my guide, he'll come while I'm picking up the kids at school again. Perhaps I should leave a note on my door? "Meet me at my minivan. It will be parked on the main street near the school. I'll sign for my package there."...think it'll work?
I have a new faithful friend. I guess you could call him a follower. I am dog sitting for a friend. Very sweet dog, Bruin, his temperament and personality remind me of our beloved Bailey. The kids love him, even A, who has outgrown her fear of large animals that can knock her down. She talked to him and led him around the house most of the afternoon, while we were waiting for that elusive package to arrive. N is having a wonderful time throwing the ball for him morning and night.Tonight the kids were fighting over who's room he would sleep in. So nice to borrow a dog to fulfill those needs, without actually having to commit.
