A to me, while holding up a little matchbox car, "Mom, this little mini-car is awesome! We should get one of these next time!" Sorry, I guess this doesn't sound too unusual, but coming from a three-year-old, I did a double-take. Does she even know what awesome means? I guess the 80s are coming back, or did she pick that up from us?

N to me, while putting on my makeup, "Mom, you should try covering your face ."
Me, thinking he's seen or heard about Arab or Muslim customs somewhere, "Really? What do you mean? With a scarf?"
"No with paint or something."
"Huh?"
"You know, to cover up all those little spots on your face." (ouch)
...They don't seem to believe the angel kisses story anymore.
