PINEWOOD DERBY

The race car lineup
(If you zoom in, the one with the 5 princesses on top "Parade of Princesses" belongs to A)

N is a real racing fan, note the pit pass around his neck

Yesterday we had the pleasure of participating in the pinewood derby. V and I were on the planning committee, so we felt the pressure to fully participate. So the entire family had a racecar entry, including me. I entered my race car in the adult category and took first place, to my delight. I can't take credit for my win, as V actually cut and engineered the car from a pinewood block to win the race, I only designed and decorated it.

My car was called "Black Tie Affair"

E took first place in the sibling category. Her "Monkeying Around" car was super fast.....

N was a little disappointed his car didn't win any awards this year (last year he took first place among the Tigers). This year he designed a cub scout themed car (the mirrors his idea) and called it the "Blue Wolf". V tried to prepare him for a loss, as it was obvious before the race that his car was one of the more sluggish ones in our family (they say it's all in the wheels, and I'm inclined to agree).

"My precious"

After a very early morning outside in the chill, snacking on graham crackers or Grand Crappers (as A calls them), the sun finally came out in time to clean up the track and the mess. We decided to go out to a new local Mexican restaurant for lunch and then home for naps!
