I got this recipe for Dump Cake from the Pioneer Woman Cooks website. There you can find a pdf file for download. Talk about fattening! You're supposed to use margarine and butter, I used Smart Balance blend instead. The finished product tastes like cobbler to me. Talk about comfort food!
I intended to get a before and after photo, but all I could get was the before. The family dug in so fast, ate it up, and it was gone. Try it, you may just like it.
That is slices of butter on top!
Yes, Daisies do dance!
E and her Daddy went to her first Girl Scout Dance last Saturday night. It was a 50s sock hop. She earned her first patch for attending. Also she won a ribbon for competing in the hula hoop competition.
Disneyland
We started our spring break this week and and spent the first week at Disneyland. After picking up Aunt Gabi from her friend's near Disneyland, we headed for the hotel. We met our friends from Oregon there and spent a week in the hotel room above them (lucky for us it was them underneath, because apparently there are some pretty heavy feet in our family). While there, we were also able to meet the Surina family for a day of play. I went on the Hollywood Hotel Tower of Terror with Gabi and the two big kids. It was my first time. I guess it will be their last time, although tall enough, they seem to be lacking in courage! N went on the California Screaming roller coaster (his favorite ride) three times in a row (I'm not kidding) and didn't throw up. Aren't kids amazing? The last day at Disneyland I lost my pass and had to get it reissued. The (good) camera was acting up, I am praying for an easy fix. It was the longest stretch I have ever spent at Disneyland (5 days).
A chooses the white horse.

We met our friends the Surinas one day at the park. Ayla slept 3 hours straight!
The girls didn't notice all the lines! They were too busy enjoying each other's company.
The girls find the time for primping in the hotel room.
This ride at the CA Adventure park (Mulholland Madness) makes me sick, but the kids love it!
I think... if I were three... this guy would scare me!
Here we are riding the train at Big Thunder Mountain. It is moving faster than it appears!
E got to meet her Fairy Godmother (she was a little shy).
And much later, back at the hotel, A shows her true affection for Minnie...and candy.
Even the four of them couldn't lift this one!
Old friendships like this never die.
The whole gang!...Including our hero, Mickey.
It was so sad to say goodbye to all our Oregon friends. We won't see them again until the summertime. We also had to say goodbye to Jeff, he leaves for Afghanistan in only a few days. Today we had to take Aunt Gabrielle to the airport. Before we left, I realized my car keys are missing. I sure hope they turn up! The window lift on the trunk broke when I removed the luggage and I had to drive home with the back window flapping.
