Princess Choice Dance

I have no idea what Princess Choice Dance means, but E enjoyed her date with her Daddy very much (and got to wear the silk dress from her aunt's wedding a second time before she outgrew it). I had exactly 20 minutes to get her dressed, coiffed and ready for the party with my clunky cast on after I arrived home from my doctor's appointment (yes that's right, I finally have a cast). It is black and terribly uncomfortable. Our terribly complicated routine included tights, leotard (for added warmth), curling irons, lipstick and "fume", as A calls it (and, yes, she had to have some too).
It looks like they are having a lot of fun!

The weather was terrible and since we live in such a "sunny" place, of course the dance was partly outdoors (cold and wet as it was). I was worried about E getting cold, so I sent a pile of warm clothes as a backup plan, just in case. V came home from work early to take his daughter to the dance and missed dinner. He was so hungry he pigged out on the piles of cookies at the party and came home with a tummy ache!
Today was Valentine's Day. My love gave me flowers, chocolate, Alaskan King Crab Legs and a card (which I have yet to open). I had other plans which included my last minute birthday party for N, who turns 8 tomorrow. I figured we should do it today since his friends I was going to invite already have another birthday party to go to tomorrow and because we have another previously schedule Cub Scout engagement tomorrow afternoon. So in a few short hours we got the party supplies, cake, balloons, ice cream, pizza and V decorated the room while I wrapped the gifts. I hope he had a nice party :).

Homemade card from his sister
My dad left this morning to drive up north. I had a bad feeling about traveling during this winter storm, and of course the freeway is closed through the mountain passes, so he is stuck not even halfway home. He was lucky enough to find a motel with vacancies and hunker down for the night with one of his books (and some Thai food).

GREEN THUMB

I know the picture above doesn't look like much, but this little seedling grew from a seed E got at Sunday school 6 days ago. Nobody watered it, it's been sitting in the freezing cold kitchen window sill all week and yet here it flourishes in a cheap styrofoam cup!
