Ice Skating

Today the family went ice skating. Everyone that is, except myself and my youngest daughter. I didn't think my surgeon would approve. And I didn't think V would appreciate having to keep tabs on three new skaters on the rink. So we tried to find a nice comfy place to sit and watch. I tell you, the ice skating rink just can't compare with the comfy carpeted rollerskating rink of my youth, with plenty of tables and seats, great top 40 music, and views from everywhere. Not to mention it was much warmer, and I was a bit underdressed today for the chilly air. So A and I lucked out, finding a small table in the snack bar where she could color, make bead necklaces, sip Sierra Mist and feast on french fries. Not to mention get her mind off the fact that she was the only child not skating, a major disappointment for her. I didn't get many pictures because it is very hard to get them when one is not on the rink. The skaters had a blast, N earned his cubscout ice skating beltloop and pin today, and had his birthday recognized by his cub scout friends (he let everyone know about halfway through the session). To my surprise, my husband suggested we bring the kids back periodically so they can improve their skills. I can't wait till my arm heals. I love to feel the wind in my hair!

Facebook
I started a Facebook page about a month ago and as much as I try, I just can't seem to keep up and still have a life. It seems to take up too much time. Time which I am lacking. I can't keep up with all the notifications and haven't really had a chance to read all my friends profiles. And I have yet to figure out exactly how this Mafia Wars thing works. Looks like it would be fun if I could figure it out. So I guess you can say I am a bit of a dabbler. I'll just have to be happy with it. My kids will always come first.
Dad made it safely to his destination. Thanks to God for that. The temperature just warm enough and roads just clear enough to allow him safe passage through the mountain passes. We sure miss him around here. Me especially. Bruin will be next to go. The kids will be devastated, two losses in one week!
