What lies beneath

Sorry for you latecomers...I removed the graphic and vomit-inducing photos of my hand and arm. Apparently V thought they were disgusting! "Why are you putting those on there?" So if you didn't get a chance to see "the claw" too bad for you.
I left the text, however....

Yesterday was the day I had the splint and pin taken out and a cast placed. Luckily the pin removal wasn't as bad as I expected, the tugging and pulling grossed me out, but it wasn't too painful and (I think?) the doctor used some sort of cooled local anesthetic spray to distract me while they removed it. It worked (at least by distraction, anyway). I wasn't watching. In fact, I layed down on the casting table while they pulled it, because I felt anxious and didn't want to pass out or something. And V gave me a full report about the twisting maneuvers the surgeon used to remove it. Glad to miss that!
Today I feel so sore and more swollen I can't even use my left hand. I can't even move my fingers, they are so stiff and puffy, like li'l smokies sausages. Must be my arthritis flaring up. I have the surgeons go-ahead to start my meds again, so hopefully it will go down soon.
