Then ice cream for dessert (completed with whip cream and sprinkles) and after we went to a magic show to see The Amazing Dana. I was so not expecting free popcorn, cookies, lollipops and drinks-- or the sugar high that lasted for two and a half hours! After this unexpected (and sugary) twist, I'm not sure if Kat will find the courage to venture out with us on Family Fun Night again.
On return, my children settled on the couch for an hour to watch the National Spelling Bee while mommy ran around doing all the household busywork. I must have a genius for a son, he knew how to spell every single word. But of course it was posted on the screen in front of him. "Mom, I know how to spell the words, they're easy!" At bedtime he confided-"Daddy never prays with me, because he doesn't like to, he tells me I can do it on my own." So I said, "Why don't you try?" He said "I don't want to, I want you to do it. I don't like to pray, I just talk to God". I said, "Honey, praying is talking to God." So he boldly prayed aloud with me listening in. Wow, hearing that, I could only think how very proud I am of my little man.
