Loose Tooth

Friday I showed up at preschool to pick up our three-year-old from her after-school ballet-tap class. Class had just ended, and to my horror, she was performing some sort of hip-hop dance for all the other girls in the group and singing "Don't you wish your girl-friend was hot, like me? Dontcha?" I quickly scanned the area to see if any of the other parents noticed. (They were feigning disinterest. ) So what did I do? I quizzed her all the way home....Where did you learn that song? (Alvin and the Chipmunks) Do you know what it means? (Alvin was taking a shower in the dishwasher, so he was hot). Next I laid down the law... then I pleaded with her, "Don't sing that song anymore." On the way to church Sunday I purposefully played Jana Alayna (Christian Kids music), hoping she would sing that instead of the "hot" song. Between E quoting all the "interesting" lines from kids movies and commercials and A singing all the age-inappropriate songs I just don't know what to do anymore. We really don't watch that much tv! Oh the trials of being a parent!

Our good camera is broken!! (The Nikon D80.) With V having the "Pack Historian" position in our Cub Scout group, this could create some problems over the long run. We finally took it in to a local camera shop, even though it is still covered under warranty. One look at the camera, and he told us it was the auto focus lens and we should send it in to Nikon to fix under warranty. So Saturday it was off to the UPS store to ship our camera to El Segundo, California. N played soccer while E attended a classmates birthday party. She insisted on wearing a party dress, but forgot to wear shorts underneath. We arrived at the party to find, not one, but two bounce houses!
After the party we went on a family bike ride and stopped for dinner halfway through. Seems V has created some sort of family tradition with bike rides and Carl's JR. Now the kids expect it! We picked up a lonely stray bike enthusiast/(special ed?)high school student on the bike trail home and had to stop to play at the playground in order to cut ties. He seemed like a nice boy, but he was just way too interested in our family and too friendly with my son. The thought of him following us home and finding out which house we live in seemed a little dangerous to me.
E is ready to lose her first tooth...
